- Residence: 25 February 1921; Percy Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario; My grandmother (Edna Skinkle) who was the daughter of George Skinkle (b Sept 11, 1847 and died Feb 25, 1921) left the farm to his son Harold Skinkle on his death. I know the farm was in Percy Township and just outside of Warkworth. The story is that Harold lost the farm through gambling. Harold left suddenly and moved to Toronto and family had to move to a home in Warkworth. My grandmother never talked to her brother after this event." per email from Howard Goodfellow, Feb 28 2024.10

Note: There are no Skinkle names in the land records for lot 19, conc 5, Percy Twp. (Dan Buchanan, Feb 28 2024)4,12 - Note*: circa 1940; Ontario; "Hello Dan. Thanks for your research. On the details for Harold Victor Skinkle marriage on 21 March ,1936 it shows his farm residence as Conc 4, Lot 19 Percy township. Do you have the land registry deed for this property? I was told that when farm was lost (circa 1940) that Harold took off to Toronto and his wife Ruby who was a school teacher left Warkworth to take a teaching position in Stayner? with their young son Murray Neil Skinkle. Do you have any info on when Murray was born? I think that he became a dentist?." per email sent to my by Howard Goodfellow, Feb 29 2024.10
- Note: circa 1940; Conc 4 Lot 19, Percy Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario; Land Registry Records have no reference to Harold Skinkle at all. Records for lot 19, concession 4, Percy Twp., where he was working in 1936 when he was married, show that Peter Jones owned this land. He purchased 100 acres of the north half of lot 19 in 1911 from John ?Gorman. He had a mortgage in 1919 with Clarence A. Woof, sold a piece of land to Hydro in 1939, and sold the land in 1946 to his son Frank Jones. However, there was a family connection. A daughter of of Peter Jones, Margaret Jones, married Ross Skinkle in 1914, he was a son of Korah (Corey) Skinkle, a brother of George Skinkle. As of today, Mar 1 2024, I see nothing in land records to indicate that Harold Skinkle owned any land in this area. I have checked all the concessions from 1 to 4. (Dan Buchanan, Mar 1 2024)12
