  Note: This is the only reference I have seen to the second man killed in The Breakaway. Jacob's brother John is definitely not the one; it could be Jacob - there are no records for him after the 1851 Census.⁴

However, we can expect he was buried soon after the Breakaway, at the same time as Lewis Shearer, who also died in the event.
