A youth threw a lighted firecracker at her feet as she walked along with a boy friend. The celluloid starch used to stiffen the full petticoats of that period, caught the flames, and the terrified girl running, spreading them. She was taken to the adjoining manse where she died June 10. The service was at Morganston Church. A neighboring minister officiated as the local one was too upset to be able to conduct the service.
