  • Death*: 7 September 1946; Jubilee Hospital, Vernon, British Columbia; "Early Resident Succombs in City - Wellington Hanna, 74, resident of Vernon for 24 years, died on Saturday on the Jubilee Hospital after six weeks' illness. He had gone to the hospital after a heart attack last Thursday. He would have been 75 on September 29. Mr. Hanna was born in Brighton Township, Northumberland County, Ontario. After farming in that district for many years he came west, living in Calgary for three years before moving to Vernon in 1922. For several years he and his brother, Charles Hanna, operated a fruit farm near Westbank. He returned to Vernon in 1932, a year before his brother's death. Since that time he has lived with his sister, Mr.s W. A. Combs, his only survivor. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Campbell and Winter Chapel, Rev. G. W. Payne officiating.
