  • Birth*: 4 February 1761; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; Date 1761 per GEDCOM of Paul C. Lozo, Nov 7 2008. Date Feb 4 1761 per GEDCOM of Troy Brown, April 14, 2005.1
  • Marriage*: 3 March 1789; St. Pauls Church, Fredericksburgh Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., Ontario; "The records of Rev John Langhorn have the following in Fredericksburgh: Pg 3 George Shriver 3rd (twp) & Catharine Pickle of same married 03 Mar 1789. Pg 48 John s/o George & Catharine Shriver bp 24 Feb 1790. Pg 55 Mary, d/o Johannes Jerry & Katreen Shriver bp 29 Jan 1795. Pg 62 Nancy, d/o Johan George & Catharine Shriver bp 03 Oct 1798" .... and also .. "On 3 March 1789 in Fredricksburg Township he married Catrina Pickle, the ceremony officiated by Rev. John Langhorn. They lived in Fredricksburg and had fourteen children (5 sons and 9 daughters)." per GEDCOM of Paul C. Lozo, Nov 7 2008.
Date Mar 3 1789 & location St. Pauls Church, Fredericksbugh per IGI Record. per GEDCOM of Troy Brown, April 14, 2005.; Principal=Catherine Pickle2,1
  • Death*: 1829; per GEDCOM of Troy Brown, April 14, 2005.1
  • Note*: 4 February 1761; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; "I checked the records for any evidence of a baptism of a George WAHL to dispel any argument that George may have been illegitimate, however no baptism was found. From reading the church records these people believed in the Sacraments of Marriage and Baptism. Martin and Rosina were married on 08 April 1760 in the Lutheran Church. Their first child Johann Peter was born 04 February 1761 and was baptized 22 February 1761 in the Lutheran Church. Their next son, Johann Martin was born 17 October 1762 and was baptized 31 October 1762 in the Lutheran Church (the sponsor was also Johann Peter KLEIN). Martin and Rosina now have 2 boys and on 05 January 1763 George is indentured by his mother. Johann Melchior (Martin) SCHRYVER died 04 April 1763 at age 6 months (3 months after George was indentured). Therefore George must have been baptized as "Johann Peter" SCHRYVER and was nick-named "George" or..... the minister made a mistake. He may have been baptized as "Johann George" but the minister may have incorrectly recorded the name as "Johann Peter". If a minister were busy on a particular day and had 3 baptisms, as were performed on 22 February 1761, he may have easily forgotten the name of one of the children and assuming that the child was named after the sponsor, as was quite common, he recorded the name "Johann Peter" after the sponsor "Johann Peter" KLEIN. Mistakes were often made. See the information here: http://www3.sympatico.ca/pc.lozo/Evidence.htm" per GEDCOM of Paul C. Lozo, Nov 7 2008.1

Simeon told him that the first Schryver to America was Michael Schryver who came from Holland to Philadelphia. He later went to Duchess Co. NY. George Walter Schryver, his son and a brother came to Canada in 1784 as UEL's. The brother settled in Quebec and George settled on a Crown Grant near Hay Bay.
