Weller’s family of twenty-two. In his possession is a gold watch which, with £100, was given his father by the Governor-General as a souvenir of that magnificent drive. Mr. H.L.M. Weller, broker; Miss Elizabeth Weller, and Mrs. C.H. Quipp of Toronto, and grandchildren. They vividly recall their mother’s story of a winter day in the 1840’s when the Toronto coach came thundering into Cobourg, its drive dead--- frozen stiff on the box, reigns still in hands." This comes from an online search of the Cobourg Public Library, says acquired Sep 2008 (may have been in paper then) but the context indicates around 1930, as it says J. L. Weller is retired - he died 1932.
  Note: I am assuming "Miss Elizabeth Weller" refers to the daughte rof Thomas More Taylor Weller, a brother of J. L.'s, and she is still alive in Toronto as of 1935.

Weller’s family of twenty-two. In his possession is a gold watch which, with £100, was given his father by the Governor-General as a souvenir of that magnificent drive. Mr. H.L.M. Weller, broker; Miss Elizabeth Weller, and Mrs. C.H. Quipp of Toronto, and grandchildren. They vividly recall their mother’s story of a winter day in the 1840’s when the Toronto coach came thundering into Cobourg, its drive dead--- frozen stiff on the box, reigns still in hands." This comes from an online search of the Cobourg Public Library, says acquired Sep 2008 (may have been in paper then) but the context indicates around 1930, as it says J. L. Weller is retired - he died 1932.
