Note: Placing Sarah as dau. of Joseph Carl & Wilempy Peck per email from Eleanore Dilello, July 15, 2008. She is correct to show that this Sarah does not belong to the Carr family. Her email is as follows: "I am writing in regards to Sarah Carr listed as the wife of William Palmateer b. 1818-1819(Levi Wesley Palmateer’s wedding record) and also listed as a daughter of Abraham Carr. ( his daughter Sarah was not born until 1831). I am also researching this because I think this is Sarah Carroll/Carl dau of Joseph Carl/Carle and Wilempy Peck. There is a bible of James Carl Kemp that was found. In the bible, along with the Kemp family names was the following entry : dated August 21st 1824 (shortly after James Carl’s marriage) Joseph and Wilempy Carl
James Carl no date Sela Carl b. Oct 11 1820.
I believe this Sela Carl is Sarah Carl b. 1820, dau of Joseph & Wilempy Carl and that she m.William Palmateer 1840. Thru out the census records for William & Sarah she is listed as having been born 1820-1821. One of her children, Charles Palmateer d. Sept 8 1930. (Attached) He lists his mother as Sarah Carrol. The registration (buried together) in the cemetery Morganston, Christian Church also states Sarah Carroll. (as listed below) Christian Church Cem., Lot 14 Con 9 Cramahe: Charles C. Palmateer / 1859 – 1930 / wife / Johann Puffer / 1862 – 1932 / Owen F. / 1898-1899/Pearl S. / 1891-1926
/William Palmateer / 1815 – 1905 / wife / Sarah CARROLL / 1820-1900 / Lottie 1886-1957 Foff – 1888 – 1955 Mossie 1890-1974
So although, we cannot be sure which one is correct or perhaps neither may be correct, I don’t think we can say with certainty that Carr is correct. Sarah Carl/Carrol/Carroll was the sister of Rodah Carl/Carrol/Carroll who married Abraham Carr." per email from Eleanore Dilello, July 15, 2008.2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 - Marriage*: before 1840; Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario; per 1861 Census. Note: According to his Death Registration, Henry Robert Dingman was the son of "Leucina Dingman" and it shows no father. This would likely refer to Lucina Dingman (1825-1878), an early child of Garret Dingman and Annie Sabins. That would make Lucina an older sister of Henry. There seems to be a long period between the early children in the 1820s and then in 1837 and 1840s. Were there two wifes of Garrett Dingman? This must have been well known to have been written in the Death Registration. What is clear is that the children lived with Garrett Dingman, according to census records.3,4,5,2,6,7,8,9 - Marriage*: circa February 1872; Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario; Principal=Clara Ann Palmateer
