- Birth*: circa 18051
- Marriage*: circa 1825; Principal=Samuel Strickland1
- Death*: 1826; Ontario; "In 1826 Samuel Stickland walked fifty-eight miles on one day to visit his sick wife. When he got within five miles of his destination, he stopped at a tavern where some men were discussing a funeral to be held the next day - hers." from page 93 of "Inheritance: Ontario's Century Farms Past & Present" by John & Monica Ladell, 1979.
Note: I wonder if this story is about this Samuel Strickland. It would appear so just because of the date 1826 and his wife dying. This is found in the chapter called "The O'Keefe Family, Cornwall Township, Stormont County", which is shortly after the chapter for the James Moreland family who's wife was Jane Reid.1,2
