    1. Thomas Harns b. 1800 d. 1848 - married Catherine Tice, the daughter of neighbour Henry Tice of Ameliasburgh Twp. On the Militia list of 1822 we note Thomas Harns gives his age as 22 years. Thomas and Catherine had three sons of whom two died as young men. The third son Jesse W. Harns was born 1834 and died 1856 - married Naomi L. Burr 1836-1909. Some time after 1850 the widow Catharine and son Jesse W. Harns moved to Lot 76 on the 4th Concession of Ameliasburgh Twp. and here Jesse Wellington Harns was born in 1855 - d. 1917. He married Catharine Denike and had four children - Blake, Vera, Gladwin and Ewart. The Harns family continued to live on this homestead until the decease of Gladwin (Gladdy) in year 1975.
