The Toronto Necropolis Chapel was built in 1872 and is one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Toronto. The Crematorium was built in 1933. - Residence: circa 1851; Hanlon's Point, Toronto Island, Toronto, York Co., Ontario; "First I was emailed along time ago (2004 I think) from a descendant of Della Gerow daughter of William and Jane, William is son to William and Bridget, anyway it had some info that had been given to the uncle of this descendant, one part of it caught my interest and that was that William had a first wife before Bridget but her name was not known and there was a list of two children for this first marriage a James and Mary. Listed children for William and Bridget were William John. George, Ellen, Charlotte, Dan (Daniel). The paper had also stated that William and Bridget lived on Hanlons point which is part of Toronto island. William husband of Bridget apparently died in 1861 and was buried in the Necropolis burying grounds with some ward children but i havent found proof of that yet. The other intersting part was that William john son of William and Bridget was a civil war soldier. I have jpg copies of the letter and the statement of military service if you would like me to send them to you." per email from Debbie Gerow, Dec 15 2008.
Note: The mother of George is Mary in my data. On further review, I see no evidence to support that name directly. It may have come from an early GEDCOM which I did not document. In view of this, Debbie Gerow's research may show a legitimate family structure, with Bridgit as the mother's name. More early documents are required to support this - especially the 1851 and 1861 Census.2

- William Gerow per "Story of William Gerow", sent to me via email by Debbie Gerow, Dec 21 2008. Bridget Gereaux is listed with this spelling of the surname through to her death, so it is likely that this is what William used. The children used an Anglicized spelling - Gerow.
