A. Murphy was the scene of a very pretty, patriotic, autumn wedding, when their only daughter, Gertrude, was married to Dr. Arthur J. Burley, of Buffalo, N. Y. As the strains of the wedding march were played by Mrs. J. E. Arkles, aunt of the bride, the groom was conducted to his place by Mrs. W. W. Brown, matron of honor, the bride, who was daintily gowned in white silk, following, leaning upon the arm of her father. The parlor was decorated with evergreens, golden rod and maple leaves, while over the bride and groom floated the Union Jacks and Stars and Stripes. After Rev. W. A. Bunner had tied the nuptial knot, the guests retired to the dining room which was beautifully decorated with red, white and blue bunting and flags. Mr. Nate Gaffield and three of the bride's uncles assisted as waiters. After partaking heartily of the bountiful repast, toasts were proposed and spoken to by several gentlemen, friends of the bride. The happy couple donned travelling attire and amid showers of rice, lucky old shoes, the friends singing "He is a jolly good fellow", they were driven to Colborne station and left for Uncle Sam's domains for an extended wedding tour. The presents to the bride were a beautiful collection and were testimonials to the bride's popularity. All join in wishing them a long and happy life. Mr.s H.
