Beach conducted a service in the Weaver Funeral Home for Mrs. Ida Ames of Codrington, who died in her 82nd year at the Maple Haven Nursing Home in Belleville last Saturday. Bearers were Edwin Quinn, John Postma, Wm. Moran, Wilfred Jamieson, Maurice Harvey and Robert Hazelwood. Interment was in McPhail's Cemetery. Born in Wooler, Mrs. Ames was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Gainforth. A life-time Codrington district resident, she was a member of Wooler United Church. She had been ill for the past five years. Mrs. Ames is survived by two daughters, Mina Ames of Belleville and Mrs. Everett (Bernice) Ellis of Wooler; two sons, Arthur of Codrington and Cecil of Petawawa and a grand-daughter Barbara Ames of Pembroke. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1958.

Maybe the newlyweds were living apart until he was able to obtain his medical training.
