Originally he was with the government for 36 years at the station at Codrington. He bought an orchard from Eileen Macinelley. He then added the Bonnie Brae Orchard then owned by Tom Fritz. In all, this gave him 110 acres of which 60 acres were in apples. His original orchard was a mixture of MacIntosh, Spies and Delicious while the Bonnie Brae Orchard had a wide variety of species. This was because Fritz was involved in the marketting of apples between Kingston and Toronto. Ted Mound grew up in the west of England where his father was in the game bird business. His brother, Jack, now retired and living in Trenton, for some years ran a game bird operation north of Brighton. Mound has recently sold his orchards to his son-in-law, Edward Kennedy and his daughter, Patricia."
