Johnson W. Marsh1

M, #38518, b. 1814
  • Birth*: 1814; Ontario; Date 1814 & location Cda. per 1860 Census.
Note: Johnson W. Marsh is added as a son of Johnson Marsh as an educated guess. The older generation Johnson Marsh appears in the 1840 Census in Murray Township with several males over 16. Johnson W. Marsh appears to have gone from ontario to Michigan around 1850 but is not in the MI Census index for 1850; he may be in the 1851 Census for Grey Co. - which township?? Also, Lydia is the wife of the second generation Johnson Marsh as we see in census records.1

Mary McTaggart1

F, #38528, b. 14 February 1786, d. 13 July 1842
  • Birth*: 14 February 1786; Chrysler's Farm, Williamsburgh Twp., Dundas Co., Ontario; "Was the eldest daughter of Corp. James McTaggart U.E. who had drawn his first land Lot #4, Bayside in 3rd town (Fredericksburgh) June 1784. It has been handed down to this daughter, Mary, born Feb. 14, 1786, on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in what was later the Township of Williamsburgh. This would seem to indicate they were on their way to his land previous to the spring break-up of the St. Lawrence River as it was much more pleasent to travel by ice and snow than by the water as there were no roads at that time. Her father had moved to Sopiasburgh near Fish Lake in 6th town where she was married." per GEDCOM of Brooke Delaney, Nov 12 2006.
