J. Philp; The passing of a well known resident of Brighton, in the person of B. J. Philp, occured at his home on Young St., Friday, June 26th, following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late John Philp and Elizabeth Fiddick, both natives of Cornwall, England, and was born at Hilton, Ontario, on November 11, 1865. In 1893, he married Mary Alefa Harvie and resided for several years at Hilton, where he engaged in various activities of both church and community. He was a passionate love of flowers and bees and for a number of years was president of the Northumberland Beekeepers Association of Ontario. Due to ill health, he was forced to retire in the spring of 1919 and moved to Brighton where he lived until his death. He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. W. T. Taylor, another sister having predeceased him in 1895. Funeral services were held at the residence on Monday afternoon, .. conducted by Rev. J. E. Anderson and Rev. C. W. Barrett, a former pastor. The service was attended by a large number ... Interment was made in Shiloh Cemetery. Bearers were O. Morrrow, R. B. Maybee and ...
