Uncle John is lovingly remembered by Jeff and Laura Mutton, his great niece and nephew Jennifer (Mutton) and Matt Ellis, Jonah Mutton and his pride a nd Joy, his great-great nephew Kolby Ellis. John was a kind and generous soul, who despite having no children of his own, treated Jeff and his family as his own children. He was full of stories and loved his card games. Also a proud member of Brighton Legion. Memorial Service to be held Sunday, March 25, 1 pm at Dundonald Church on County Road 21. Donations to Shiloh Cemetery. Three weeks later he left for Le Havre, and joined the second battalion, Dec. 9th, in France. he spent twenty-four months in France. On Aug. 2nd, 1917, he was wounded slightly. On Sept. 27th, 1918, he was wounded badly in the chest and was sent to England, Oct. 9th. The next year he was returned to Canada, landing at Kingston July 4th, 1919.
